Spokesperson of the country’s national Covid-19 taskforce, Professor Hanta Vololontiana announced the first Coronavirus death record in Madagascar.

In a televised broadcast to the nation, “A man died from COVID-19 in Madagascar … he is 57 years old and a member of the medical staff,” – she stated.  And further clarified that the victim was a medical worker though but was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. And obviously had to pass out on the even of Saturday May 16th, 2020.

Meanwhile, the country of Madagascar has reportedly conducted 5,673 tests out of which 304 confirm to be Covid-19 positive. Additionally, with 114 recoveries partly owning to the effectiveness of their Coronavirus vaccine, Covid-Organics. Which makes their president believe the tonic as a potential cure for the virus. Moreover, the Malagasy President Rajeolina has sought for the assistance of the government of South Africa in testing their potential vaccine.

It should however be well noted that coronavirus has swept across the face of the African continent infecting over 52 countries. However, Madagascar records it first coronavirus death after two whole months.
