Ghana Elected To Serve On WHO Executive Board

The Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has been elected to serve on the Executive Board of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

To begin with, the 34-member Executive Board composes of technically qualified members elect to serve a three-year term. Firstly, the main function of the Board is to implement the decisions and policies of the Health Assembly. And secondly to advise and facilitate its work.

Consequently, the Director-General of the WHO, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus congratulated Dr Harsh Vardhan the new Chair of the Executive Board and the Executive Board members. And subsequently urged them to work effectively and efficiently.
