GES In Talks With Prez Nana Addo To Reopen Schools

A circulation on social media cites that the Ghana Education Service (GES) is currently calling upon stakeholders for a meeting against a possible school reopen by President Nana Akuffo Addo.

Evidently, the president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo placed a ban on all schools from nursery to tertiary in response to Covid-19. However, looking at the report of his latest update on the disease containment, the ban extends to the end of this month of May. Which obviously mean that things ‘may’ get a bit loose after May 31st with lifting the ban. So that they can resume regular educational activities as was before March 16th, 2020.

In view of this, Ghana Education Service is calling on other stakeholders, educational bodies, and leaders of teacher associations such as Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) among others to ‘tie knots at one spot’ in strategizing disease prevention measures against a possible school come-back looming in the shadows in the nick of time. This is primarily because there has to be a devised plan for optimum security among diverse students in various levels.
