In light of this, various people have expressed their opinion as a preventive measure against the current global pandemic. Conversely, the government of Ghana has announced a temporary closure of the VIP Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport effective Saturday, March 21, 2020. Thus, a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs ministry indicates this activity as a critical move to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Meanwhile, Ghana has recorded a total number of 16 cases as at March 20th, 2020. Undoubtedly , could there be a rise in this figure in the coming days?

Earlier in the week, government announced it’s decision to deny entry for non-citizens from foreign countries with high number of confirmed cases. This precaution however applies to all diplomatic missions, international organisations and the honorary consulates accredited to Ghana. Hence, the Foreign Affairs Ministry has instructed all inbound passengers, including emergency cases, to use Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport.
