Bishop Obinim Granted Bail By The Magistrate Court

Bishop Daniel Obinim has reportedly been granted ₵100,000 bail by the magistrate court in Accra.

News of his alleged arrest

Eth Studios published an article on the alleged arrest of the head pastor for International God’s Way Church, Bishop Obinim. Also, we subsequently reported of his sudden ailment at the spot of arrest. And consequently stated that the man of God was receiving treatment in one hospital at East Legon, Accra. However, current report reaching us states the pastor was discharged on Tuesday May 19th, 2020. Hence, the Ghana police arrested him yesterday and charged him with his arrest warrant. And thus, he was made to stand before the law court.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Superintendent of the Public Affairs Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department, Ms Juliana Obeng said the suspect was also under investigation for other offences levelled against him :

“Bishop Daniel Obinim was arrested on a warrant of arrest issued by the court. He has been charged with the offences of publication of false news and forgery of document contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29) respectively.”

The magistrate court has granted him bail

Additionally, report from Joy News says Bishop was sent to the Magistrate court in Accra and has been granted a ₵100,000 bail. And that he will subsequently re-appear before the court on Monday June 1st, 2020.
